Ten of 12 ginseng supplements evaluated met CL standards for quality, label claims, disintegration and lack of contaminants and adulterants, online testing company announces Aug. 28. MotherNature.com's Korean ginseng had high levels of the pesticides hexachlorobenzene, quintozene, lindane, while Royal King's Chinese ginseng contained less than 10% of the claimed amount of ginsenosides, CL reports. Nature's Way herbal single Korean ginseng and Vitamin World's Chinese red ginseng were among the products that contained the proper amount of ginsenosides and that did not exceed acceptable levels of contaminants.
