According to the agency, recent Environmental Protection Agency testing indicates that per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) can form and migrate from fluorinated polyethylene containers that are not manufactured in compliance with FDA regulations. The Environmental Defense Fund wants the FDA to investigate the issue in cosmetics as well as food packaging.
