Executive Summary
European Parliament will address the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals system at a joint public hearing in Brussels Jan. 19. REACH, which would implement the EU White Paper on Chemicals passed by the Parliament in 2001, requires European manufacturers of more than one ton of a chemical substance per year to register in a central database.
