Executive Summary
Fourth quarter U.S. sales, bolstered by the success of the Banana Republic personal care line, surged 141% to $19.8 mil. for the period (ended Dec. 31), firm reports Jan. 23. Company's European business posted strong growth, advancing 23% to $70.5 mil. on new items from Burberry, who had a "banner year" with Burberry London and increased brand sales 20%; Lanvin, which grew 20% on Eclat d'Arpège and Rumeur; and Paul Smith, where sales grew 22%. The jump helped drive Q4 sales up 34% to $90.3 mil. For 2006, sales "substantially" exceeded previous forecasts, climbing 16% to $321.1 mil. with net income of $17.2 mil. to $17.5 mil., firm says. Accordingly, Inter Parfums upped its 2007 projections to $365 mil. in sales with net income of $20.4 mil.
