Burberry boosts IPAR sales In Q3

Coming off a record-setting second quarter, Inter Parfums sales in the third quarter reached $120.9 mil., a 2.8% increase, firm reports Oct. 26. New launches earlier in the year, including Van Cleef & Arpels' Midnight in Paris for men and Oriens for women, along with Lanvin Marry Me, contributed to gains and drove net sales for the first nine months of 2010 up 17.3% to a record $348 mil. Burberry fragrance sales are up 18% year-to-date, with Burberry cosmetics and the global rollout of Burberry Sport contributing to the push. Inter Parfums is preparing to take on distribution and existing inventory for Burberry and Lanvin fragrances once its distribution deal with Procter & Gamble expires Dec. 31 (1"The Rose Sheet" Sept. 13, 2010). In the third quarter, the company experienced shortfalls in inventory, and as a result, certain shipments that were planned for the period are expected to ship in the fourth quarter, the firm said
