Executive Summary
Building on their 2003 partnership, Beckman Coulter (laboratory instruments to automate biomedical tests) has agreed to acquire diagnostics company Biosite to establish itself within the point-of-care immunoassay market, particularly in the cardiovascular area. Beckman also hopes to expand sales and geographic reach for Biosite's existing tests.
